Since our dog Syd died in February, I've been making a point to get out and walk as much as I can. I also started a 15 minute stretching/yoga workout every morning. I was really starting to feel good, and feel my stomach muscles tightening up a bit.
Until Friday. Or was it Saturday? I think it was Saturday.
Let's just say that I'm not doing anything weird or advanced in my stretching routine. Pretty basic stuff. I was nearing the end, and while completing a move that should have been no big deal, my knee made an odd noise.
There was crunching.
It wasn't until later that my knee started to feel sore, but the pain has continued for a few days. Walking in my daily activities around home or the library are fine. On the longer walks I've taken I'm definitely favoring that leg, which then causes my hip and foot to feel funny. Boo. It's not a debilitating injury (thank goodness), but it sure is annoying.
I took a break from stretching yesterday, and when I gave it a shot this morning it was immediately clear that almost everything I was doing used that knee. Darn it! I guess I will have to stick with walking for now. Careful walking.
Very careful.
I did however get off work an hour early today to make up for extra time worked last week. It was a gorgeous day, and I took a walk on a route different from my usual route. Beautiful as that is by the water, it does get a bit boring day after day. I walked 2.5 miles, and the water tower I passed was looking good today. So blue! Then one of my phone camera apps let me turn it gold!
I'm getting pretty lazy with my photography now that I have the iPhone. But it works for me! I'll get back to that SLR one of these days. I've got so many photos taken in the last couple of years that I never went through and posted! I've always had this thing where I NEED to post my photos in chronological order. I think I need to get over that.
Until next time - cheers!
